Walk 4 Moms Planning List
In order to make this event a success, we need your help! Here are the necessary steps to begin planning a walk in your area.
Step 1.
Select a location. Suggestions: park, lake, downtown area, mall walk, neighborhood, etc. Walk at least 4 miles for moms. If you truly can't walk, sponsor someone who can.
Step 2.
Register to Walk on this website. Be sure to let us know if you are walking with a group.
Step 3.
Print out the sponsorship form from this site to record those who will sponsor you. Be sure to ask your sponsors to go online and give their sponsorship amount right away. Our site is secure for donations, but if someone wants to send their donation via mail, please have them send it to "Sisters In Service, SIS National Walk 4 Moms, 2975 Northwoods Parkway, Suite 100, Norcross, GA 30071. Direct them to www.SistersInService.org, if they want to know more about our international organization.
Step 4.
If you would like to organize your church or group, you can direct them to organize a Task Force, which will make suggestions to SIS about where local funds would best be directed.
Step 5.
Invite others to walk. Your group, bible study, church, tennis team, bunko group, youth or children's group can walk together to benefit hurting moms near and far.
Step 6.
Start praying now. Pray for the national walk, for walkers, sponsors, publicity, and most importantly, pray for hurting moms in your community and in our world.
Step 7.
Contact local media (radio, TV, newspaper, etc.) for promotion and coverage to boldly say, "We care, pray and help hurting moms this Mother's Day."
Step. 8.
Let us know how you are doing and contact us if you need help. Your questions will help us learn to serve other walkers.
Step 9.
Wear a bright blue shirt. We hope to look like a river of God's love flowing over our nation.
Sisters In Service will mail tax-deductible receipts to donors, walkers and sponsors. A report on lives changed from this walk will be posted on this site.
